Role Purpose

The ideal candidate will be responsible for content planning, publishing, optimization, analytics, audience growth, and monetization strategy, ensuring our channels consistently deliver high engagement, strong watch time, and subscriber growth.

  • 3–7 years of experience managing YouTube channels (publisher/media preferred)

Responsibilities

Channel Management & Publishing

  • Manage end-to-end operations of Pinkvilla’s YouTube channels (main + vertical channels if any)
  • Own the publishing calendar, upload schedules, and content pipeline coordination
  • Ensure correct metadata uploads: titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, chapters, end screens, cards, playlists, etc.
  • Maintain channel hygiene and organization (playlists, series grouping, pinned comments, community tab)

YouTube Growth & Optimization

  • Optimize videos for discoverability via SEO-led titles, tags, descriptions, and keyword strategy
  • Drive growth through YouTube best practices for:
  • CTR improvement (thumbnail + title testing)
  • Watch time and retention improvements
  • Session time / binge viewing through playlists and suggested strategy
  • Work on A/B testing for thumbnails and titles to improve performance

Performance & Analytics

  • Track daily/weekly/monthly channel performance and content trends
  • Monitor key metrics: views, watch time, retention, CTR, impressions, subscriber growth, RPM/CPM
  • Build actionable insights and share performance reports with leadership and content teams
  • Identify what formats, talent, and topics are scaling and double down accordingly

Content Strategy & Coordination

  • Work closely with editorial, video producers, post-production and social teams
  • Suggest YouTube-first content formats (long-form + Shorts + Live)
  • Create strategies for:
  • Celebrity interviews
  • Entertainment news formats
  • Fashion/beauty + lifestyle video series
  • Guide improvements in scripting, pacing, hooks, and video structure based on audience retention

Shorts & Trending Content

  • Drive YouTube Shorts strategy to increase reach and subscriber conversion
  • Track trends and recommend quick-turnaround content ideas
  • Ensure Shorts are optimized with proper packaging, captions, hashtags and posting frequency

Monetization & Compliance

  • Support monetization growth via content optimization and rights-safe publishing
  • Ensure adherence to YouTube policies, copyright, claims, and community guidelines
  • Coordinate with CMS/rights teams where required
  • Handle escalations such as strikes, claims, and restricted videos (if needed)
Technical Skills
  • Work with one of India’s leading entertainment & pop culture digital brands
  • Opportunity to scale large YouTube audiences across formats (long-form + Shorts)

  • Strong understanding of YouTube algorithm, analytics, and growth levers
